Dr. Edom Seifu

Dr. Edom Seifu specializes as an oncologist in Addis Ababa. She is the first female oncologist in Ethiopia working as the head of the cancer treatment department at Black Lion (Tikur Anbessa) Specialized Hospital. In addition, Dr. Seifu is a visiting oncologist at Addis Hiwot General Hospital. She is an expert clinician and researcher who has been diagnosing and treating breast, ovarian, colorectal, and oesophagal cancer at Tinkur Anbessa Hospital for more than eight years. She has vast experience in providing quality general and specialty-level care to patients requiring emergency treatments. Through her training and knowledge, Dr. Seifu has made significant contributions to the field.

Dr. Seifu completed medical studies in Addis Ababa and undertook oncology training at Addis Ababa University. The four-year training gave her substantial exposure to treating and diagnosing patients with acute and chronic symptoms. Besides, she is well-versed in using imaging techniques to analyze the level of disease and recommend surgical procedures. Dr. Seifu has a special interest in advancing care for different types of cancer by making clinical facilities well-equipped and conducive to catering to a greater number of people.
