Dr. Abdu Adem

Dr. Abdu Adem is an eminent oncologist, trainer, and passionate advocate for cancer awareness. He works at St. Paul Hospital Millennium Medical College as Assistant Professor of Clinical Oncology. A graduate of Addis Ababa University, Dr. Adem is a leading name when it comes to cancer care, diagnostics, research, and consultation. Through his meticulous researches, he has helped enhance the current landscape of cancer treatment in Ethiopia.
Dr. Adem is an award-winning oncologist whose consistent efforts to treat and prevent cancer have been well-acknowledged. To improve the accessibility of care, he has been instrumental in bringing about curricular developments. In 2018, he prepared the evaluation criteria for oncologists and set up the Oncology unit at SPHMMC. Most recently, in 2024, he worked as part of a team to validate the hemato-oncology fellowship, which will begin at SPHMMC. Dr. Adem’s patient-centric approach and commitment to making people cancer-free and enhancing care accessibility have made him a top name among oncologists in Ethiopia.
