Dr Seyoum Kassa is a senior consultant cardiothoracic surgeon in Addis Ababa. He is the Associate Professor of Surgery at Menelik II Hospital, Addis Ababa University (AAU). Dr Kassa is a renowned chief cardiothoracic surgeon with over 30 years of experience. The Cuban-trained surgeon is a graduate of ISCM Facultad De Medicina in Santiago and is extremely skilled in managing critical cardiac injuries. His specialized expertise accrues from his strong academic achievements and professional experience in various general and private hospitals.

Dr. Kassa is a Fellowship holder in cardiothoracic surgery from the College of Surgeons of East Central and Southern Africa, FCS CTS (ECSA). After completing his education, he was affiliated with many top government and private hospitals. Currently, he provides medical services in AAU’s Menelik II Hospital and Hallelujah General Hospital. He routinely performs general surgery procedures and specialized surgical interventions of the heart and lung, like aortic valve surgery, coronary artery bypass surgery, atrial fibrillation, and lung cancer resections.
