Dr. Tirumebet Mezgebu Minayehu

Dr Tirumebet Mezgebu Minayehu is a clinical haematologist in Addis Ababa. She is the head of the Department of Internal Medicine at Saint Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC). Dr Minayehu is one of the very few haematologists who work with adult patients with hematologic disorders in Ethiopia. A highly experienced medical specialist, she has been trained in India besides Addis Ababa and has specialized knowledge. Over the course of her education and training, she received many awards and opportunities to train under eminent figures in her domain.

Dr. Minayehu has always strived to enhance diagnostic modalities and help patients in Ethiopia benefit from complete treatments. Her efforts to enhance care in a resource-limited state have led her to gain widespread recognition. Today, SPHMMC has the infrastructure to support stem cell transplantation and radiotherapy for cancer patients, and Dr. Minayehu has been instrumental in it. As a resilient and forward-thinking haematologist, Dr Minayehu actively attends national and international seminars and conferences in her field, allowing her to build meaningful connections.
