Yekatit 12 General Hospital Medical College
Yekatit 12 General Hospital Medical College is a general hospital and college in Arada Sub City, Ethiopia. It was established in 1923 E.C. This hospital aimed to improve health in the country. It started with 25 beds and 35 health professionals, who were Ethiopians and Swedish. It was founded by Dr Hanner, a Swedish physician. This hospital is managed by both the Ethiopian and British Red Cross Society. Yekatit 12 Hospital was opened as a hospital medical college by the City Government of Addis Ababa in 2011 G.C. It offers long-standing services to people residing in Addis Ababa and then re-established a training center for medical professionals with medical health services. This hospital delivers well-trained medium- and higher-level health professionals with the latest methods of training and combined theoretical knowledge with practical application. This hospital also redesigned a research center for college to boost medical services.
Yekatit 12 hospital services include general health treatments, reproductive health treatments, emergency care, residency internal medicine, critical care management, maxillofacial surgery, and training for students. Yekatit 12 General Hospital Medical College has successfully graduated seven rounds of skilled general practitioners, three rounds of public health masters, 2nd round of pediatricians and internists, the first round of residents in general surgery, O.B.s/Gyn, and craniomaxillofacial surgery, comprehensive nursing, and other emergency conditions.
